Uth Daze is a free arts festival for youth, kids and families that will happen at Toronto’s Artscape Wychwood Barns from May 25-26, 2013. Presented by the reConnexion Collective, the third annual festival’s fun will include performances, workshops, creative activities and more!
The reConnexion Collective
The collective formed in 2009, composed of theatre & live performing practitioners, and now has four core members committed to creating opportunities and empowering youth through performing arts: Jajube Mandiela, Natasha Adiyana Morris, Amanda Nicholls, and Tijana Spasic. Operating as a project run collective, reConnexion focuses on culturally diverse artistic programming for young people, connecting Toronto’s youth with the professional live performance community, and fostering the growth of emerging artists. The Collective has partnered on projects with the City of Toronto, NIA Centre for the Arts, b current, ArtStarts, the Children’s Aid Society and other organizations, on projects including: Fresh Wednesdays, many artistic workshop series’, and the very successful Trips2Shows project. reConnexion’s next venture is creating new and adapted performance works that are inclusive and represent the Greater Toronto Area experiences.
